DStv opens
Nigeria Media Sales office, holds exhibition
DStv Media
Sales, an arm of the MultiChoice Group responsible for selling advertising airtime
and sponsorship on DStv channels and programmes, has announced the opening of a
Nigerian office located at Plot 1652, Olosa Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Hitchings, Chief Executive Officer, DStv Media Sales, at the second edition of
the annual DStv Media Sales exhibition aimed at sustaining relationship with
the Nigerian advertising industry held at Radisson Blu Hotel, Victoria Island,
Lagos on Thursday, March 1, said: “DStv Media Sales is expanding its business
scope across the continent. In Nigeria, we have opened an office with a team of
six people and we are working to expand that. The aim is to bring our business
closer to our clients and prospective advertisers on the DStv platform.”
Mr
Hitchings added that the exhibition was held to showcase an array of exciting
channels, quality programming and opportunities that abound on DStv to the
Nigerian Advertising industry and woo them to publicize their products and
services on the platform. “The essence of the gathering is to have an
experiential platform where our advertisers and their agencies can learn more
about our brands and the opportunities they represent. They go round our stands
and people explain to them what happens on various channels and programmes.” He
further added that a number of presentations are made on issues within the
industry. “These will help them to gain understanding into the way we do our
business and how they can take advantage of the huge DStv platform.”
He expressed
satisfaction with the turnout of guests and hoped that their enthusiasm will
translate to more business partnerships for the DStv brands and Nigerian
advertisers.
Busola
Adeogun-Phillips, Regional Director, DStv Media Sales, Nigeria, said that this
year’s exhibition was held to build on the success recorded at the maiden
edition last year and to showcase additions as well as innovation that have
been made to the brands. “The event gives DStv ample opportunity to showcase
all that we have on our platform to advertisers to enable them decide on which
area they want to partner with us by placing their adverts on the platform. It
is an opportunity for advertisers to understand what we do and how we do it so
as to take advantage of our platform to reach their targets.”
Ms.
Adeogun-Phillips added that the exhibition was also meant to let Nigerian
advertisers know that the DStv Media Sales now has a functional office in
Lagos, Nigeria. “Nigerian advertisers can now reach us easily either to buy
airtime or sponsor any programme on any of the channels on the DStv platform.”
High
points of the interactive event were presentations on: “The future of
Television”, by Mrs. Fahmeeda Cassim Surtee, Sales
Director, Dstv Media Sales; “M-Net Africa in 2012”, by Ms. Collete Otusheso;
“The SpaceStation’s World of Digital” and “Keys to the Success of Apple”.
