Yahoo and Microsoft combine clients to single platform in Europe
Yahoo and Microsoft have combined their search market places in the UK, Ireland and France, bringing their combined clients to the one platform.
As part of the two companies’ search alliance formed in 2010, all of Yahoo’s and Microsoft’s digital advertisers and publishers have been consolidated and transferred to the Microsoft adCenter.
As a result of the transition, advertisers can manage their campaigns through a single account as opposed to having to manage campaigns on Bing and Yahoo separately.
The alliance is now turning its attention to Germany, Switzerland and Austria and expects to begin the process in early May.
“Yahoo Search is really an important part of our business and we have invested a lot of time to make the transition as efficient and as seamless as possible for our advertisers and publishers” says Yahoo director and account manager for UK and Ireland Jon Myers. “Now we can focus on delivering compelling content for our users and customers to build relevant online experiences.”
The consolidation process has already taken place in North America and India.
“As a result of this transition we believe Bing users will see more useful advertising while presenting advertisers with an increasingly compelling alternative in search advertising,” says Microsoft head of search advertising and alliances Mark Richardson.
