MB&F HM3 Poison Dart Frog Watch Unveiled

MB&F (or Maximilian Büsser & Friends) have reverted to something extremely beautiful but deadly, to inspire their latest creation. The so called Horological Machine No. 3 (also known as the HM3) Poison Dart Frog watch is the latest limited edition timepiece signed MB&F and was designed around a yellow-banded poison dart frog.
The small animal somewhat resembles a salamander in coloration, but is far deadlier. Scientifically named Dendrobates Leucomelas, it is believed that the frog doesn’t produce the poison by itself, but rather ingests it from sources like some species of spiders and secrets the venom through her skin.
Colored in a mix of black and yellow tones, it serves as basics for the MB&F HM3 Poison Dart Frog timepiece, which, in turn, comes with a PVD-coated zirconium case set, adorned with 18k gold case screws and a 22k gold automatic rotor, above the piece designed by Jean-Marc Wiederrecht.
The rotor is hooped by a large date wheel. The two bulky domes the protrude from the plan of the watch, resembling the frog’s eyes, serve has housings for the hour and minute indicators, thus eliminating the need of the wearer to have to move his arm in order to read the time.
The stunning limited edition MB&F HM3 Poison Dart Frog series sports just 10 units, each garnished with black leather straps and an intricate mechanism. The watches are exclusively purchasable via The Hour Glass in Singapore, for a price tag of around $104,000 US for each piece.
