The Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN) is grieving the passing unto glory of her Past President and distinguished senior practitioner, Dr. May Nzeribe.
Until his death, Dr. Nzeribe was the Executive Chairman of Sunrise Advertising Limited, the agency he founded in 1983. A thorough-bred adman, Dr. Nzeribe served on the International Advertising Association’s Board of Directors (IAA) and was the President of IAA Nigeria chapter. A scholar and distinguished advertising giant, Dr. Nzeribe is the only black African recipient of the IAA’s medal of merit.
From 1992 to 1995, Dr. Nzeribe served as President of the Association and left remarkable footprints. His leadership skills culminated in his appointment by the Federal Government as the 3rd Chairman of Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) Governing Council. He, at various times, served the advertising industry in Nigeria and globally by contributing and promoting an enabling business environment for advertising stakeholders and the business community.
The President of the Association, Mrs. Bunmi Oke, frpa stated that Dr. Nzeribe passage is a huge loss to the advertising industry in particular and the nation in general. She further stated that Dr. Nzeribe was a colossus at the Association, APCON in particular, and the industry in general.
He will be remembered as a passionate and progressive practitioner who believes in adherence to professional ethics and standard.
