Brands Step Up for Disaster Relief in Wake of Hurricane Sandy

Here's to the many brands that have been stepping up in the wake of Hurricane Sandy's devastation on the U.S., providing everything from money to food to power and their employees, products and services to help disaster relief efforts. A partial list of charitable first-responders follows (and if we miss any, please let us know in the comments):
AT&T will extend late-payment windows for wireless and wireline customers, waive late payment fees and not disconnect services because of non-payment, and in an unprecedented open-networkarrangement with T-Mobile, will enable roaming to customers of both companies in the impacted areas. AT&T wireless customers can make a $10 donation (up to $50) for Hurricane Sandy relief by texting to relief organizations. AT&T and T-Mobile also joined forces on a wireless roaming agreement, while Verizon Wireless is offering free charging for all cellphones.
The American Red Cross has received $11 million (and counting) in donations including:JPMorgan Chase ($2 million to Red Cross of $5M in total); Kohl's ($1 million); The New York Yankees ($500,000); Citi ($100,000), on top of the $50,000 it gives annually to the disaster fund;HSBC ($500,000 to Red Cross of $1M commitment); Pernod Ricard USA ($100,000), Rite Aid($100,000), CVS Caremark -- $50,000 in cash and another $50,000 in food and bottled water; United Airlines -- up to $50,000 to match donations made to the Red Cross, Feeding America, or AmeriCares on the Crowdrise fundraising platform. It will also give members of its frequent-flier program bonus miles. The Walt Disney Company is donating $1 million to the Red Cross and $1 million to other relief organizations, while Target is donating $500,000 to the Red Cross (mostly) and others.
Among automakers, Ford employees and Ford Motor Company Fund are donating $50,000, Volkswagen has pledged $500,000 and Mercedes-Benz is donating $1 million dollars to the American Red Cross. Chevrolet donated 50 full-sized Silverado pick trucks and Express cargo vans to the American Red Cross while General Motors donated 300 OnStar Hands-Free calling minutes for each vehicle donated as well as $250,000 to the American Red Cross Disaster Responder Program. Nissan is offering North American employee pricing and discounted financing on Nissan and Infiniti vehicles to eligible individuals in FEMA-designated disaster and emergency areas who need to replace vehicles lost to Hurricane Sandy.
American Airlines and American Eagle are partnering with the American Red Cross and through Nov. 30, 2012, AAdvantage members will earn a one-time award of 250 AAdvantage miles for a minimum donation of $50, or 500 AAdvantage miles for a donation of $100 or more to American Red Cross Disaster Relief. 
Apple added an American Red Cross donation button to its iTunes the store's music and film offerings, with the option of donating  $5 up to $200 by clicking. eBay set up a dedicated Hurricane Sandy page where users can browse and buy items that benefit Sandy-related charities, while PayPal is also enabling donations.
Capital One is donating $1 million between different groups. 
Coca-Cola is donating $1 million to local community relief efforts. 
FedEx is donating $1.2 million in cash and in-kind transportation.
Kellogg announced a $500,000 commitment comprised of a $250,000 cash contribution to the American Red Cross and $250,000 in food to Feeding America, the nation's largest hunger-relief charity.
Lilly is donating $200,000 to the American Red Cross and a $1 match for every dollar donated by Lilly employees to the American Red Cross or Salvation Army.
Lowe's $1 million pledge includes matching the earnings of five-time Sprint Cup champion Jimmie Johnson from Sunday’s NASCAR race at Texas Motor Speedway.
Airbnb asked its members to lower their home rental rates, and pledged to waive the company's customary service fees in affected areas until Nov. 7.


Toys"R"Us is giving $500,000 to Save the Children, while Office Depot is donating money and kids' backpacks.

U-Haul is offering 30 days free self-storage and U-Box pod moving and self-storage to assist Hurricane Sandy victims.
Procter & Gamble’s Duracell has been stationed in NYC's Battery Park with charging stations for mobile phones and devices as well as computers with internet access, and batteries for radios and flashlights. 
NBCUniversal's TV networks — NBC, Bravo, CNBC, E!, G4, MSNBC, Style, Syfy and USA — will air a one-hour live benefit telethon, "Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together," on Friday, November 2 (8-9 pm ET). Hosted by NBC "Today" anchor Matt Lauer, performers include Christina Aguilera, Jon Bon Jovi, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen and Sting, and appearances by Jimmy Fallon and Brian Williams. Money collected will be donated to the American Red Cross.
