MultiChoice Nigeria, leading provider
of premium pay-TV content, has handed cash rewards of one million, five hundred
and ninety thousand Naira (N1.59m) each to two new lucky subscribers: Mrs
Olubunmi Ajayi and Mr Victor Nwadigo. They are the second and third winners of
the new DStv Rewards draws, which hold weekly. Mr Segun Adeyemo, a security
expert based in Lagos, was the first Nigerian to win N1.59m, equivalent of
$10,000 US Dollar, in the new DStv Rewards, which began in February and is
expected to end in April.
Handing over the cash prize to the
winners, Mr Mayo Okunola, General Manager, DStv, said: “MultiChoice is happy to
reward Nigerians for staying with us in the last twenty years. We will not stop
acknowledging the loyalty of our subscribers and their belief in the DStv
brand. This Rewards programme is designed to become part and parcel of our
policy. So, it will be sustained. I congratulate the winners and I encourage
our subscribers to keep believing in us, as we will continue to surprise them
with more gifts.”
The two winners, who got their cash
rewards at separate presentation ceremonies held at the MultiChoice’s head
office in Lagos, thanked MultiChoice for the prizes and expressed their
surprise at being named winners of DStv Rewards for doing nothing other than
paying their DStv subscriptions in advance.
Mr Nwadigo, a civil servant based in
Abuja, said the money came at a time he needed cash badly to take care of some
needs. “I must confess that I only paid DStv subscription so that my wife and
children could have fun. Little did I know that DStv was going to reward me for
being a "good" father and husband,” he added.
Both winners
enjoined Nigerians to pay their subscriptions regularly, as they also stand a
chance of winning in the weekly draws.Mr. Segun Fayose, Head of Public Relations, MultiChoice Nigeria, explained that active DStv subscribers stand to benefit from the DStv Rewards programme in 3 ways: One, from 5th February to 10th of April, all active subscribers qualify for a weekly draw to win the sum of N1, 590, 000 (One Million Five Hundred and Ninety Thousand Naira). Two, all subscribers stand a chance to win 12 months free viewing on their existing bouquet in the Spot The Reward Box competition. Three, subscribers who pay before their due date earn a 10% percent discount on their subscription across all bouquets.
Mr. Fayose urged all DStv subscribers to watch out for a box message on their TV during prime time and SMS their full name to the number displayed on their screen to qualify for the Spot The Reward Competition. To stand a chance of winning, subscribers need to send their details within five minutes of sighting the box to qualify.
