Virgin Atlantic airlines are trialling the latest Google Glass technology at London's Heathrow Airport.
Working with air transport communications and IT firm SITA, the airline is using a custom built app for the Glass system which enables Upper Class Wing staff members to identify passengers as they approach and start the check-in process.
It will also provide them directly with flight and weather information and even language translation.

In the future, the technology may also be able to tell staff more personal information about their passengers such as dietary and refreshment preferences.
The news closely follows the announcement that Google Glass will be made available to the American public on Tuesday for one day only before the gadget is made available on a commercial level.
