A classic timepiece defines true luxury, and that is Piaget
watches epitomise. Adding to the brand’s elitist list is its Altiplano’s 2015
edition which is set to create a world record for being the slimmest watch.
The super slim Altiplano watches from Piaget have set records
with the Altiplano Skeleton and the Altiplano 900P. The latest edition to this
collection is set to release in fall. Sstaying true to the brand’s repute, it
is certainly going to create a record for being the world’s thinnest
chronograph movement timepiece.
The brand states that it took around two years to develop this
Piaget 883P caliber, hand-wound flyback chronograph. With the depth of the
movement measuring just about 4.65 mm, the watch has a reserve power of 50
hours and a 3Hz beat rate. All of this, and every other Piaget utility and
feature has been sleekly added to this timepiece. The dial includes a small
seconds’ dial at 6 o’clock, a sub-dial at 3 o’clock that has a 30-minute
counter, and a 24-hour dual time sub-dial at 9 o’clock. On either sides of the
dial are the flyback push buttons that help the chronograph reset to zero.
These are controlled by a precise vertical clutch and a column-wheel that
attend to the phase coordination.
This exquisite timepiece, adorned with circular Côtes de Genève,
will have a circular-grained mainplate, the Piaget coats of arm and beveled
bridges. It will also have sunburst wheels and blue screws with a sapphire
crystal caseback.

chronograph will also be alternatively available in white gold, with 56
brilliantly-cut diamonds around the bezel. The timepiece will be priced around
$29,000 (approx. Rs 18 lakh).
