NIMN 2023 Annual
Marketing Conference and AGM berths in Abuja with theme: The Role of Ethics and
Marketing in Nation Building.
This years annual National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria after a decade has decided to berth in Abuja to give national spread to the Institutes activities. Speaking recently at a press briefing flagging off this years activities Chioma Afe Chairperson planning committee of events and conferences said “So we have an annual marketing conference every year, I think almost for a decade now. This year we decided to take it to Abuja. We wanted to do things differently. I think Abuja is the focal point of a lot of activity in 2023 and our institute is national. So we cannot continue to have events in only in Lagos without showcasing the fact that we're a national body. This year we are going to Abuja specifically for having our annual marketing conference at the Fraser Suites Abuja, and in line with the mood of the nation, we are looking at the role of ethics and marketing in nation building. That is our theme for this year” Speaking further she enunciated “Last year we talked about marketing and tech as a marriage a union. But this year, understanding that we are, I think, on the cusp of a change,we believe in the nation,we want to be able to speak on how marketing as marketing professionals, clearly as well as Ethics comes to play in building the nation that we all dream of."
Welcoming the audience at the press
briefing the National President and Chairman of Council Mr.Idoreyen Enang reemphasized the Goals of
the institute in seeking collaborative partnerships to advance their vision “We as an Institute believe that the
currency of the future lies in collaboration
and now strategic Partnerships are
becoming a top priority for us. We've been able to look at things and say to ourselves, what is going to help
us get the best out of our people. We have agreed that it can only be for us to
get it through affiliations. So late last year, we opened conversations with
each other, we've had several iterations and compositions now it has become
part of our reality”
NIMN in pursuit of avenues and opportunities to enrich the profession of marketing has entered into partnerships with other global bodies such as the Chartered Institute of Marketing CIM, Harley Reed international,ARCON and NTA, to bridge the knowledge gap of proffessionals and facilitate cross pollination of ideas.
Speaking
further on this years conference Chioma Afe expressed “Our conference is filled
with not just panels and keynote conversations, but also gives the opportunity
for our associates and participants to network and share ideas. So this year we
have lined up two panels. One will be focused on the role of marketing, while
the other will be focused on the role of ethics as it comes to nation building.
In furtherance of this we have on board
academicians, we have on board people leading in marketing space,we also have
people leading when it comes to entertainment and other areas of business. And
therefore speaking about marketing and ethics we are privileged this year to
have as our keynote speaker Mr Lolu
Akinwunmi. He has confirmed . And Lolu, as most of us will know, is a pioneer
advertiser and marketing communication
specialist. He has led and been at the forefront of marketing, communications,
advertising and creativity in this nation. So I'm sure his keynote speech is
filled with lots of nuggets and pieces of wisdom and experience. For all who
will listen. We are also privileged to have goodwill messages coming from
various sectoral heads. We look forward to having the DG of HASG as well as
other sectoral bodies, who will also be present at the conference in Abuja on
June 22nd”
