“The Jewel”, drawing from the brilliance of Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka’s The Lion and the Jewel and Ola Rotimi’s Our Husband Has Gone Mad Again, promises a bold fusion of tradition and innovation. This isn’t just theatre—it’s a reawakening of Nigerian literary classics, reimagined with dazzling choreography, immersive visuals, and a pulsating modern musical score.

The show takes center stage on April 18th and 19th, and if early critic reviews are anything to go by—calling it “jaw-dropping” and “Broadway brilliance with African soul”—audiences are in for an unforgettable ride.

FirstBank, a longstanding champion of the arts through its First@arts initiative, continues to lead the way in nurturing Nigeria’s creative landscape—investing in talent, culture, and artistic innovation that resonates far beyond the stage.
